As Vice President of Resort Activities & Marketing with Wesbild, James led the senior management teams of two-award winning golf and resort facilities - Westwood Plateau in Coquitlam, BC and Predator Ridge in the Okanagan Valley, BC.  His direct responsibilities over the years have included million dollar clubhouse renovations, hosting the 2008 TELUS World Skins game and creating and implementing loyalty and amenity programs for residential homeowners.

As Executive Director for PLAY GOLF James was responsible for the drafting and implementation of the PLAY GOLF Strategic Plan, an industry-led, national initiative to grow the game of golf in Canada.  As Managing Director of PLAY GOLF, James reported to the seven national golf associations and met with thousands of stakeholders across Canada to learn best practices on growing the game. One of the most significant accomplishments of this initiative was the coordination of the first ever 'Canadian Golf Industry Research Summit', which ultimately led to the completion of the first ever Economic Impact Study For Golf in Canada (2009).

Over the past twenty years James has shared his systems for success with thousands of stakeholders across North America and the globe. His presentations include 'The POWER of ON', 'Lights! Camera! Customer Service!', 'The Five Keys to Business Success', 'Be Branded' and 'The State of the Golf Industry'.  He regularly contributes articles to various publications on his favorite topic - how to get people powered on to give great service.  James is the only speaker to present at all twelve annual conferences of the National Golf Course Owners Association of Canada.

At age 17 James was cast in his first professional theatre production, during which he popped out of a freezer to perform one song. For the next decade and a half he performed on stage, television and radio, garnering a handful of best actor awards... and he once sang backup for Paul Anka. From 2006 to 2013 James was President/Managing Producer of Theatre Under the Stars, a non-profit theatre company that has delivered exceptional family musicals for the past 67 years at Malkin Bowl in beautiful Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC. Working in the very early development days of the Earl's Restaurant chain, James was a senior manager involved in the launch and ongoing operations of three extremely successful locations in Vancouver, BC.  In addition to managing these restaurants he participated in the assessment and implementation of the many successful HR and Customer Service programs that have made Earl's a Best Practice example in the restaurant industry.
